Bred in the 1840s, Early Jersey Wakefield produces a conically-shaped cabbage that usually measures 5 inches across and weighs up to 3 pounds each.  Known for its delicious taste, this particular cabbage was bred by a few New Jersey neighbors crossing Wakefield cabbage with other home garden varieties.
